Chris Morocco Interview
Tell us about yourself. Whats your name? Where are you from?
-My name is Chris Morocco and I am a director and photographer from Richmond, Ca.
What does the word "based" mean to you?
-I’ve heard it used differently, everything from being loaded to being positive. To me it means being so clean and creative you are on a different level than everyone else.
How did you get into the video/photography industry? What inspired you?
-I knew I wanted to make videos in 8th grade when I had an assignment to make a movie using special effects. In high school I also became interested in music production and then I made my first music video in college. I graduated with a degree in audio and video production but I feel like I am mostly self-taught. I took a couple months off after college, got my equipment and business plan together and have been making videos ever since.
I think what inspired me was partly my dad who has been in the entertainment industry since before I was born but also the idea I could own and operate my own business. I watch videos all the time and respect other video directors but there is not a specific person that made me want to be a director.
What upcoming projects are you working on?
-I am finishing a video for an artist from Kafani’s Ice King label, a video for Bobby Brackins and one for another group DBS. I also have more videos scheduled with Nova Boy and APB as well as Kris Staxx featuring Young L for their song “I’m Blasted”.
Are there any artists out there you would like to work with, but haven't got the chance yet?
-It would be dope to shoot a video for The Cataracs Lil B or Kafani. I’m also interested in shooting with artists from different cities around the world.
Who are your favorite artists right now?
-Young bay artists like APB, Bobby Brackins, Kris Staxx, Starting Six, Pack, and Cataracs. I listen to different types of music but it’s pretty much Gucci, Dilla and Dipset all day.
What are some things that people don't know about you?
-I am a teacher.
Whats some advice you can give the people that want to get into the video/photography industry?
-I would say be a professional and treat every project like it is your best so strive for longevity and greatness.

Kickflip Interview
Tell us about yourself. Whats your name? Where are you from?
-The name is Kickflip i was recently in a local bay area group called the Geek Squad. Im doing my solo material now for everybody. Coming straight from the bay, I stay in Hayward, CA.
What does the word "based" mean to you?
-The word based to me basically means being postive & being you.
How did you get into the music industry? What inspired you?
-Well i got into the music back in my sophomore year in high school. I was influenced by all the Bay Area rappers coming up into the rap game, and back then i used to write lyrics and poems and shit like that so i said to myself, what the heck lets make some music. It was around that time when the hyphy & vans movement was going on so i was writing all kinds of songs like that. I started a rap crew called the Geek Squad with one of my patnaz around those times so we started recording music almost everyday at my place and people were diggin our music. Also The Pack was a huge influence because they made it when they was young like us, so music to me became more than just a hobby it became like a job to me in order for me to make it and do it big, u feel me?
What upcoming projects are you working on?
-Well right now i just finished and dropped my debut mixtape called "Who The F*$# is Kickflip!?" i wanted to let people know that half of the Geek Squad is still out there making moves. Im also working on 2 other songs that will hopefully be hitting the radio by the end of this month. A music video is also coming but thats later on.
Are there any artists out there you would like to work with, but haven't got the chance yet?
- Yea, theres a couple artist i would like to work with. For instance, Lil B from The Pack is one of them, im talking to him about a collab. The Cataracs is another group i would like to work with, their music is CRAZY! haha
Who are your favorite artists right now?
- My favorite artist right now on the mainstream side are, Gucci Mane, Trey Songz, Lil Wayne, Plies, theres so many out there i cant fit em all ha and on the underground are like, Stunnaman, Coldflamez, D-lo and yea.
What are some things that people don't know about you?
- Haha well a lot of people dont know that im actually kind of a shy guy, i be tellin em but they dont believe me
Whats some advice you can give the people that want to get into the music industry?
- Ill i can say is that never give up, and never let anyone put you down. Just do u and be positive and you can be anything when you put yourself up to it.

How did you guys get into the music industry? What inspired you?
-We got in to the business around our senior years of high school. In addition J.mash Plays The Piano & Also Produces so it was even more necessary to have an outlet for our musical talents to express ourselves musically to our peers I guess what inspired us was the bay itself and all the different movements that were going on at the time the punk rock movement the hyphy movement the based movement I guess we just embodied all those materials together and in 2008, we put a mark on the music industry with our smash single Bitch I'm famous Remix/Music Video which was one of the Hottest Bay Area tracks Featuring a lot of the up & coming talented artist such as Young Bari, Damey [Diligentz] RonRon[Tekknitionz] Young Dell, Smoovie Baby & SugaButta [Formely of Go Dav] Shoutout to all those cats & The Producer Roy Millz we still appreciate all the love & support they gave us by jumping on that track showed a lot of unity.. We Believe the bay needs More Unity it would be nice to go to a party or function and not have to make life decision's.."Ok if I go, there's a good chance of me getting some numbers or shot/Killed...That's not the way it should be most broz is just trying to take something home..Haha
What upcoming projects are you guys working on?
-Were working on a couple of projects the one that's in production as of right now is our 2010 mixtape "The Your So Cool Experience" Ft our Hit single "Your So Cool Ft indigo Vanity (Unchained) you can find her in all the newboyz videos jerking..She's also a talented young artist and we have alot of love and respect for her.. We are also working on alot of collab's...Just grinding tryna get stuff rolling in 2010 bro...
Are there any artists out there you guys would like to work with, but haven't got the chance yet?
-There's alot we would love to work with T-Pain, E-40Timbaland, Will.I.am NewBoyz, Lil Wayne, Drake, The Pack, ,Cassidy Souljaboy, Nelly & Diddy, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber & Ke$ha just to name a few...We like working With artist that stray away from the normal on into the amazing and that's where the true legends live..

-That we were both highschool basketball stars at our schools Rodriguez Highschool & Armijo Highschool..We love playing video games Gears of war's , Halo, Grand Theft Auto.
