STARTING SIX, THE POPULAR BAY AREA HIP-HOP GROUP THAT BROUGHT YOU THE YOUTUBE HIT “THIRSTY” IS SET TO SHOOT MUSIC VIDEO FOR “YOGI”.
December 22, 2010 - Berkeley, CA -- Since the success of “THIRSY”, STARTING SIX has since developed into a dynamic talent as a group. Realizing that the director of the video for “Thirsty” was a key part of it’s success, STARTING SIX has tapped the shoulder, yet again, of one of the Bay Area’s few most talked about directors, CHRIS MOROCCO.
At almost a half a million views on Youtube, “Thirsty” is both STARTING SIX and CHRIS MOROCCO’s most watched piece of media.
Both STARTING SIX and CHRIS MOROCCO have big shoes to fill, and will create nothing short of another masterpiece to outdo their previous success.
“YOGI”, an eclectic mix of acoustic sounds, smooth pop melody, rhythmic R&B and Hip-Hop influences, is already proving to be another head-turner. The song has received notable feedback from the hit making duo, The Cataracs, as well as other Indie Pop artists. With their trademark party hard style and undeniable charisma, Starting Six will be adding a grown man swag to the mix proving to be a MUST-WATCH for 2011.
Bobby Brackins new E.P "Live Good 0.5" has 4 tracks: 143, A1, I'm Ready, and Break It Down. Everyone already knows the hit 143 ft. Ray J and his newer single I'm Ready, so all the attention turns to two new songs; Break It Down ft. Cataracs and A1 ft. Dev. After listening to them, they do not disappoint at all, I can see A1 defiantly being Bobby's next hit of the young 2011 year!
Bobby Brackins still proves with just a few new songs released towards his first official album dropping next spring, that all his music is dannon (If you dont know what that means check out his twitter or YouTube). You can easily listen to this E.P over and over again just like any of his music out now. His music never gets old, JUST PRESS PLAY AND PUT IT ON REPEAT.

Tell us about yourself. Whats your name? Where are you from? -My names balance I'm a upcoming MC repping the bay area. I was born in Oakland raised in Berkeley, Oakland, and San Francisco.
What does the word "based" mean to you? -I feel like "based" is a movement my brothers lil b and the pack started. its a youth movement meaning "i don't give a fuck I'ma be me". so i feel like I'm "based" too. i do me and my music and i don't care what anyone thinks "ima be me"
How did you get into the music industry? What inspired you? - I kinda got forced into it. in high school i had friends who started a rap group and they said "u wanna be in it?". i said "cool" rap gave me something to do when i wasn't in class or at sports practice. as i got more and more into it. people started saying "man u dope u can do this". so i jus ran with it. and here i am. i was inspired by jay-z, drake, nas, dr dre, snoop, etc. and all the bay area greats: e-40, too short, 3 times, luniz.
What upcoming projects are you working on? -I'm finishing up a compilation called "golden state warriorz 2". features my favorite artists from the west coast. i got everybody on it - that drops November. I'm also working on a new mix CD wit DJ faze where I'm flippin old school west coast jointz and making them new. Finally working on my second solo album called "exit" that i will drop in January.
Here is the newest tape you can download from Balance
This mix CD celebrates Balances 4 years in the independent bay area music scene. 2006 he dropped my first record "young and restless" since then he has dropped a project every year. He put "b4" together to let people who may have missed out on these projects a chance to catch up.
Are there any artists out there you would like to work with, but haven't got the chance yet? - I wanna work wit drake, kanye, dr dre. As far as west coast I kinda worked with every one. I'm blessed. as far as producers id like to work with tha bizzness, boy1der, the justice league.
Who are your favorite artists right now? -I'ma try not to say the obvious all stars. ill say I'm listening to phonte from little brother he is a beast. I like Lil b new mix CD - thats my lil homie - he pushing. i like kendrick lamar new CD. Favorite artists: drake, kanye, jay-z and im waiting on dr dre to drop his detox.
What are some things that people don't know about you? -people don't know that I'm working on 2 movie scripts right now. 1 is a horror film the other is a comedy. I got a degree in screen writing from San Francisco state university. So that's 2 things they don't know one more is ....hmmmm.... oh I'm a ghost writer for hire so u may have heard sum of my verses lol
Whats some advice you can give the people that want to get into the music industry? - I would say get a day job. reason: so u can have $ to make things happen. the more $ u have the quicker u can make things happen and now everything in this game is about speed. i would also say record as much music as possible, don't rush your music take time and make it as good as possible. Work on your craft. Invest in yourself and your craft. Get your music mixed. Listen to all music - the pioneers and the new artists. u can learn from both.
"Last words shout out to all the upcoming mcs - i do it for us. shout to thebasedupdate i fuck wit yaw site daily. thanks to all my fans without yaw i aint nothin."
Without Young L there would be no Wolfpack. His sound has always been ahead of its time, and whatever inspired or drove him to push those buttons in a way that they weren’t being pushed, at least in the US, at every stage of his career, elevated him and his three other band mates to international fame with Vans and of course ushered us into the era of the Based God. L recently provided the harder edge to The Pack‘s monumental new album Wolfpack Party, which found a comfortable balance between his own brand of verging-on-dubstep sub-slap and Cyrano of The Cataracs‘s Euro synth pop. On ‘L-E-N’ we get the more experimental end of his sound spectrum, totally in one zone over 15 based bangers, leaving us in no doubt that Young L is one of the most crucial producers doing it and someone who will continue to push the boundaries, giving that UK edge to the US market. Tell us about yourself. What’s your name? Where are you from? -Jaye Lewis is the name and hip hop is my aim. I’m a 25 year old upcoming rap artist from the SFC (San Francisco, California). I lived in the Bay Area all of my life. Overall I’m just a regular guy with a musical talent.
What does the word "based" mean to you? -Based means get your weight up! Based is motivation! If you don’t have haters you’re not doing your job and you’re definitely NOT Based. I’m lyrically based in this music and got my armor on! I’m the Hip Hop Obama and I’m ready for a Change! - Me
How did you get into the music industry? What inspired you? -Music has always been my ultimate dream in life, but I would say around 17 is when I got serious about it. I own 100+ CD’s of purely Rap and HIP HOP. I took classes at city college of SF in producing and audio, but I had to drop out to help at home. This past year my music took a turn. I decided to start laying tracks, and from the moment I stepped foot in the booth, the spectators ate it up. My manager, introduced me to a great production team who I work with, and really promoted the Jaye Lewis movement. The rest is history like they say! My inspiration comes from within. I love music to its fullest. Artist like me, definitely need moral support. If you know anybody with a dream - dream with em'. That’s just the truth! I do this for the Bay!
What upcoming projects are you working on? -Currently, I’m working on my first album with producer 1988 (Hunter Walker) from New York and recording at the studio of Gabe from Tha Watchmen in Daly City. True hip hop heads are definitely going to feel this shit. I also am collaborating on a mix tape with rap artist Styx Figure from Washington, DC. Stay tuned for the Aviators mix tape!
Are there any artist out there you would like to work with, but haven’t got the chance yet? -Actually there are a couple artist from the Bay Area that I would like to work with. Erk The Jerk is one for sure. He has a smooth sound. I would like to do a track with E40 cause you ain’t Bay if you not fucking with forty! He’s one of the Bay Area rap game revolutionist. You go almost anywhere they know who 40 and Mac Dre are. Goaple. The list could go on. But those are artist I’d like to work with from the Bay. In the meantime I’m really working on perfecting my own craft and skills. The question is who wants to collab with Jaye?
Who are you favorite artist right now? -Okay. Its narcissistic to say myself right? Well, I have a list of artist that I follow: Jay-Z, Fabolous, Wale, Drake, Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Currensy, J Cole, Gucci Maine, Ludacris, The Game, 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Jeezy, Em, Juelz Santana, and Freeway. I think those are the main artist right now and that I slap on the regular.
What are some things that people don’t know about you? -That I’m Jamaican and Black. That’s a big one, because I’m so Americanized! Blat Blat! No. But seriously, my father isn’t here in the states. I have a huge shoe collection!!! More than I can store. I’m talking Bedroom closet, hall closet, 2nd bedroom closet - its that serious. My wife is keeping me in line on that though. I have a slight OCD problem. Everything has to be organized and routine the way I set it. I do this music, but I’m a quiet low key person. No interest in the fast life. Truth #If I haven’t done it, I wont say it.
Where can people find more about you? -People can find me on Facebook, Reverbnation, Twitter, Sound Cloud, YouTube. Keyword for all these sites is Jaye Lewis or Jaye Lewis1. Check Me Out!!
-Lastly I just want to say thank you to all the fans and friends I have accumulated so far. Follow me on twitter.com/jayelewis to the top! I’ve been getting a lot of love and, positive feed back. I appreciate you! Just keep rocking with the kid cause I’m just warming up. Jaye Lewis is here to stay!!

Product Description Lloyd Young L Omadhebo, Keith Stunnaman Jenkins, Damonte Uno Johnson, and Brandon Lil B McCartney make up the Berkeley, CA group THE PACK. They all recorded together for over a year at Young L's home studio where they released their first two mixtapes Wolfpack Muzik Vol. 1 and Wolfpack Muzik Vol. 2,[ which were put into print by the late Michael Mayfield. With a lot of self promotion from The Pack as well as Mayfields' son The Pack expanded their fanbase and eventually got signed to a Jive Records by Too $hort when they were only 17 years old. In 2006, The Pack s hit single Vans was named #5 on Rolling Stone Magazine s Top 50 songs of 2006. They subsequently released a full-length album in 2007 called Based Boys. They have been touring all over the country and plan to release Wolfpack Party in 2010.
Tell us about yourself. Whats your name? Where are you from? -IM ROACH MOTHAFUCKIN GIGZ AND IM A MOTHAFUCKIN RAP STAR FROM THE BAY MOTHAFUCKIN AREA
What does the word "based" mean to you? -I never really thought about it, or knew too much about the word based except for back in the day it used to mean like bootsy or weak. All I really know is that Lil B rep that shit so hard, the whole fucking world knows about it now. And if it means doing what you want to do without caring what what anybody thinks, than man I’m a 100% supporter. I’m a firm believer in being yourself and not giving a fuck what is said about you. Because only you can create your own definition of real. That shit is way harder than it looks though man, because as humans we feel like we need someone else approval to validate ourselves. But in the end your stuck with yourself, in front of a mirror, so you just have to be happy with the man looking back at you feel me. There is always going to be someone who hates or doesn’t like what your doing, or lets their own personal experiences make them feel like they have some type of say about what you got going on, your success, the way you dress, talk, carry yourself, whatever. But fuck that, for all the people like that, there are so many more that will just fuck with you for being you.
How did you get into the music industry? What inspired you? -I always used to fuck around and write. And I would watch my older patnas rap and shit when I was younger. But I never really recorded nothing on my own until 2006. I was a senior in High School, and I had a free demo recording program and a cheap little mic, and started making mixtape songs in my closet over beats I downloaded off Limewire. As far as artists everybody know Mac Dre was my biggest inspiration. Other than that there was a bunch of crazy shit going in my life around that time which inspired me to start in some way, but the point is I did. And once I started making these low quality ass songs and people liked them, I started to believe I could really do this. Then me and my patna Lil 4 Tay ended up making a song called I Get It, it blew up locally and that was my first real sneak peek of success. I love music, I love when other people love my music, and that just keeps me going and working hard.
What upcoming projects are you working on? -I got a little surprise coming. Something to switch it up, and keep people listening. That's about to come sooner than expected. Then I’m working on finishing my album, and getting everything as big as it can be before I drop. Really I just go in the lab and make dope music. I don’t always know where its going to end up, but trust me when I tell you I’m only getting better, believe that.
Are there any artists out there you would like to work with, but haven't got the chance yet? -Lil Wayne and Andre 3000. Eventually, I want to work with the best, but I’m forever open to work with anybody that I respect who makes good music. Too many to list.
Who are your favorite artists right now? -This little band I just seen playing at the 24th and Mission BART this morning.
What are some things that people don't know about you? -My Birthday is April 25, hit me on twitter for next year’s presents drop off location. I’m a father. I’m addicted to BBQ sunflower seeds, but only the brand that is 2 for a dollar. I don’t know man, all my music is a representation of myself and my story in some way. I think people will find out more about me and my thoughts as more material starts coming out. I feel like if people meet me, I’m a cool dude, we could chop it up, and then you’ll know me even better. But don’t judge me or think you know until you really know, you know.
Whats some advice you can give the people that want to get into the music industry? -Be great.

What inspired you? -We've been performing and making music together for virtually forever but we officially got into the music industry in 2006 when we were discovered by Casual of the Hieroglyphics and introduced to Tajai of Souls of Mischief who later signed us to his label Clear Label Records.

Tell us about yourself. Whats your name? Where are you from? -What’s good. My name is Moe Green and I'm coming out of Vallejo,Ca. I am signed to Interdependent Media. I am 22 years old. My team is called The Out Crowd.
What does the word "based" mean to you? -I honestly have been trying to figure it out. Lil B kind of threw me off with the pretty bitch stuff lol but to me i guess it just means being yourself and in your own zone. And being extremely rare and relaxed.
How did you get into the music industry? What inspired you? -Industry lol. Its funny you ask that because me and Droop-E were just going back and forth about if I am in the “industry” or not. I don't think I am “in” but I am working. I just love music. I want to make music i honestly feel needs to be made. There are people who are superstars and there are people that are just starting off,and i felt that somebody had to make music for the dreamer and the person really trying to reach their goals. So i guess you can say the want to make honest and timeless music would be my inspiration.
What upcoming projects are you working on? -I have my free street album “Rocky Maivia:Non-Title Match” out for people to check out and get to know who Moe Green is. I also am getting ready to release my album “To Whom It May Concern” with producer Rob-E down the line.
Are there any artists out there you would like to work with, but haven't got the chance yet? -I would like to work with E-40,K-Os,Cee Lo,and anybody new that is doing what I am doing.
Who are your favorite artists right now? -Dom Kennedy, Wiz Khalifa,Truthlive, Currensy, Big K.R.I.T, Meg Maples,Smith Andrews,Ray Guevara, Joey Cool, J-Dub, Damey,Jay Ant...to many to name
What are some things that people don't know about you? -That I am a huge fan of “one hit wonders” and 90’s pop music.
What's some advice you can give the people that want to get into the music industry? -Just be ready to work. Its not just about how many projects you put out its about who you get it to. Things been going really good for me and i only dropped 1 mixtape before Rocky Maivia. Just build up your network and do music that feels right. Don’t try so hard to impress the people because if you stay true to yourself people will come.
Where can people find more about you? -You can check out all my links at www.SuperDuperDope.com and check out the label i am on Interdependent Media’s website at www.iMCulture.com Also hit me on Twitter.

I started writing songs when I was maybe 12 or 13. And I started recording when I was 16. What inspires me the most is just life in general you know. Everything from what’s going on in the news to what I do in my everyday life.
What upcoming projects are you working on? -Well I just released my first “best of” mixtape, hosted by DJ Sly-D. That was put out through TheBasedUpdate.com and DatPiff. And im about 70% done with my next street album “Best Coast Chronicles vol. 2”. Look out for that it should be out sometime in august.
Are there any artists out there you would like to work with, but haven't got the chance yet? -Yea there’s a lot of artists I’d like to get in the studio with. I’d love to get a couple beats from Young L and see what I could do with them. And maybe even a couple features from the whole wolfpack.
Who are your favorite artists right now? -Honestly my favorite artists right now are my homies A-Dub, Crews & Louney G. But Outside of the click I’d have to say I stay listening to game, tech n9ne, tyga, plies and pac of course.
What are some things that people don't know about you? -Probably the fact that I used to go real hard on the video games when I was younger, but I kinda grew out of that over the last few years.
Whats some advice you can give the people that want to get into the music industry? -Just do you, and don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do the music you wanna do. And speak on what’s really goin on in your life don’t try to replicate what you see on tv.

I was born in the Philippines straight out the 3rd world struggle and I am representing for all my filipinos all over the world working to prove that we have a place in Hip Hop music. I am a songwriter, artist, and Co-CEO of SMG (Symphony Music Group) 3rd World Hustle. I love to work hard and make great music, I always stay positive and let my work ethic talk.
What does the word "based" mean to you? -"BASED" is a lifestyle that everyone should incorporate in their life; being free, being yourself and loving yourself. I feel like everyone gets too caught up on what the next person is doing or how they will be perceived by others but if you just be yourself, stay BASED you will begin to develop your true artistry whether its Art, music, sports, or all the above. Stay confident, know yourself, always stay positive and live freely BASED its a lifestyle, i encourage everyone to try it LOL.
How did you get into the music industry? What inspired you? -My mother was singer/actress in the Philippines so I guess you can say being a musician was always in my blood. As a kid i watched her perform on stages, whether it be in front of a big crowd or just karoake night in front of the whole family, I liked the attention she received and loved her ability to put on a good show. Initially i fell in love with the limelight of music but through my middle school, and high school years i learned to love the Hip Hop art I was soon breakdancing and listening to a lot of Tupac, and Nas records but mostly Nas i was a Nas head!! Then I started messing around on my own freestyling over beats on my Step Dad's 8-track. He used to kill me when i dubbed over his popular cassettes but I loved messing around and hearing what i sounded like.
Hip Hop, the limelight, and the ability to portray a message in through music is what inspired me. -My family struggling in the Philippines, my Angel in the sky "Meassa" (Please watch "The Grieving Process" video if you are unfamiliar with story), and my role as underdog (Filipino) rapper is what drives me. The hoes, and nice lifestyle just all come with the territory but i embrace that aspect too LoL.

I gotta always find ways to say words better or critique myself i was taught you always have to learn and better yourself so I listen to myself a lot, i'm my own worse critic.
What are some things that people don't know about you? -That i still work a 9-6 job, I do plan on quitting my job this year if everything goes according to plan so please keep supporting the music.

Everyone is asking me tons of questions about what happened with Lil B from The Pack Sunday out in Berkeley at their video shoot for "Having a Party." This video basically does all the explaining of what happened and more.
Also people keep asking me about what I think about it, so here it is.... I was not at the video shoot out in Berkeley on Sunday so I am not going to sit here and say what I would have done and all that because I wasn't there. From everything that I have heard what happened, it was completley fucked up. I'm not going to mention the names of the people that did it, because they don't deserve shit from it.

Tell us about yourself. How did you come up with the name "PreMiere"? -The word premiere is simply defined as "to be introduced to the public.". As a musician I felt as though I could strongly relate to the definition of this word. I feel being introduced or performing in front of a huge crowd takes a lot and is quite a feeling that a entertainer would never get use to speaking from experience.

How did you get into the music industry? What inspired you? -It was long before my mind was set on becoming a recording artist. I had to understand that this was a life making decision and also a long term goal which consisted of commitment and dedication. Hard working people inspired me. I know what it feel like when a certain individual think that they are the only one that will understand what they had or have to go though to get to where they wanna be in life.
What upcoming projects are you working on? -I am currently working on my project titled "Your All Welcome", be on the look out for my single "GYSO" which will be released sometime in July/August. You will be hearing a lot from me, I hope to keep all my fans and supporters satisfied.
