Brandon McCartney: The Digital Generation’s Based Leader
Brandon McCartney. Lil B. BasedGod. Uttering any of those three names will likely result in the following responses: “Whoo,” “Swag,” “Thank you BasedGod” and my personal favorite, “You can fu** my bit** BasedGod.”
McCartney, who originally gained acclaim with his group the Pack’s shoe anthem “Vans,” has since become an internet phenomenon. He epitomizes hustling; mixtapes come out at an alarming rate–some with over 855 songs. And throughout the day McCartney makes sure to attend to his followers on Twitter. Mark McNairy 2012 Fall/Winter Footwear Collection
After participating in a number of recent collaborative endeavors, Mark McNairy has introduced some in-line offerings from his eponymous footwear collection for Fall/Winter 2012. Featuring everything from brogue-style boots and monk straps to tasseled loafers, saddle shoes and more, the line features a slew of McNasty details, including unique color-blocking schemes, crepe soles and various combinations of materials. Offering playful takes on classic menswear silhouettes, Mark McNairy’s latest designs are now available from Leftfoot.
Nike Japan Innovation Hunt Inspired by Flyknit and Lunarlon
Celebrating some of Nike‘s most innovative footwear technologies, Nike Japan is currently holding a special Innovation Hunt in conjunction with its Nike+ installation at Ugokidase Station. Specifically inspired by the new Flyknit Trainer+ and the LunarGlide+ 4, the Innovation Hunt features artworks scattered about Tokyo’s Harajuku district – each of which utilizes one of the two technologies. Everything from a Flyknit-coated bicycle and Bearbrick to a Lunarlon skateboard and traffic cone are included amongst the hidden pieces. Steven Harrington x Generic Surplus Harrington Print Borstal
The continued collaboration between Los Angeles artist Steven Harrington and Generic Surplus sees the staple Borstal reworked for the season. Arriving in three colorways: orange, blue and natural, all boast a printed canvas upper, tonal suede heel and a printed canvas insole. The collaborative Borstal can be purchased online for $78 USD.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Multiplayer Trailer
With sights and sounds indicative of real world conflicts, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 reveals the multiplayer capabilities for the popular first-person shooter franchise. Set in the year 2025, weaponry seems to be indicative of other-worldly capabilities that should create far bigger explosions and plenty more dead bodies – all hallmarks of the wildly-popular series. Call of Duty: Black Op2 2 hits shelves on November 13, 2012.
