#MattsMovieMania Thor: The Dark World

In is the second Thor film, action continues as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of "Marvel's The Avengers," Thor must team up with Loki to restore order across the cosmos, but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Was Thor 2 filled with fight-scene after fight-scene action? Yes, but there was a little more than just that in this movie, as R. Kurt Osenlund puts it perfectly, "It says something that the realization of this world needn't only use wars and destruction to dazzle viewers. There's a nighttime memorial sequence as handsome as anything else in the film, with fallen Asgardians floating down a river in burning canoes, and dissolving into starlight absorbed by the sky just as they hit a waterfall's edge." With that you can confirm that Thor 2 is not just an action movie, but a great film with more than just tons of explosions in your face with no plot and no emotion.

Furthermore, superhero movies are never getting old and until every superhero movie doesn't generate $100's of millions of dollars they are going nowhere soon! With that, and as expected, the credits start to roll and as you're waiting for a sneak peek.... you get it! Now, not only can we assume that 'Thor will return.' in Avengers 2, but most likely a Thor 3 is on the way as well because of questions unanswered.
