My name's Armani White, from West Philadelphia. The 'Murder Capital' to be exact haha.
How did you get your start in the music industry? Who or what inspired you?
Its been effective since I was born, i've was on a church choir when I was younger, but I goto one of those churches where nobody can sing so anybody who has the guts to try is admired haha. But from there, I heard my first rap song in my moms old Hyundai; Slim Shady - Kill You. I fell in love, it was so free, so funny, so dope, I HAD TO TRY IT OUT! From there I wrote my first rap.. it was about disney fighting against cartoon network or some shit haha. I've always enjoyed telling stories in my music actually. What upcoming projects are you working on?
Like 30 haha. No but seriously, i'm just about finished my debut project "The Opening Act" which has a co-sign from Tony Willaims (he's an all-around golden guy! Gentleman at its finest). That was long awaited, I feel like people are gonna be satisfied with it, but i want to give them more just for that long ass wait, so as possible (you're the first to know this) i'm doing a double release, two EP's on the same day. One following my poem series, and it'll be all poetic conscious music titled "Black Thoughts|White Poetry: Conscious State University" and one with all regular music that i enjoy doing called "Unconscious". After that, it's my full length project, i'm still debating on the name. I think i'm going on 106 & Park also haha.Since the start of your music career what is, in your opinion, the best track you have ever made?
My favorite song that I've gotten recorded is probably Yoga Pants because we were having fun but at the same time we were still being lyrical and coming up with hot shit. But my favorite song is most likely gonna change once all my new music is recorded. Once a song is recorded with me and mixed down the process isn't over. I dont use a professional studio, all the sounds i've made, i have made myself, in either a sound-proof room i found or in my bedroom. So when i first mix down a song and put it out, you can download it but you have to understand; that same mix will not be the one featured on whatever project it'll be on. Like One Bad Apple or The Knowing... either of them are the official final copy's.If you could choose one artist to collaborate with on a track who would it be? Why?
Kendrick Lamar, i'll feel like we could burn a track down together, just a slaughter! The way he approaches beats seems like the way I do.
Accompanied by a Lil B reference, based is like spelling 'Slavery' backwards, just proving that everyones mind works a different way with so much detailing evidence that the people who are still soul searching want to follow you because they think you're onto something. I think that's about right.Who are your favorite artists right now? Who’s playing through your speakers?
Old Em, Kendrick Lamar, SchoolBoy Q, Problem, OFWGKTA occasionally (I love the west coast for some reason, they just seem to be so much more musical), CyHi, Tony Williams, Flocka, Emilio Rojas, Robin Thicke, The Weeknd. My music blend is weird as fuck. What’s something that people might not know about you?
I dont smoke nor drink, I fucking love apple sauce and bacon (not together), I'm big on Fiji Water, I don't like sports, I used to stay in California, My dad's a idiot, My mom sent me to school out of the city to keep me out of the shit i eventually got into, I hate fitting in, My favorite color is baby blue (that's fucking gay haha), I watch cinemax porn for the storyboard. ehhhh. That's about it, I'm interesting as fuck haha. What’s some advice you can give to upcoming/aspiring artists that you have learned so far that may come in handy to someone else?
You can't live your dreams until you wake up. Dont let opportunity pass you, TRIP THAT SHIT! Thank you Matt. Stay Based!Where can people find more about you?
