Wiz Khalifa "Taylor Allderdice" Mixtape Review

As you know, Wiz Khalifa is back with his newest work "Taylor Allderdice." As I will conclude this mixtape shows Wiz's continual rising of fame through the success of his album Rolling Papers. As we all know Khalifa’s mixtape crashed countless internet servers this past Monday night as we all went crazy looking for working download links.

"Kush and Orange Juice” has been the comparison to this mixtape and what drives me crazy are the people that listened to that mixtape recently and therefore assume that they have been Wiz fans all along furthering their pretend like state believing that their opinion matters. This is a whole other problem though... I myself have heard "Kush and Orange Juice," but I only listened to it after I listened to Rolling Papers and Cabin Fever countless times. In my opinion from becoming a Khalifa fan, not from the beginning, Wiz has set the bar higher for his very own reaching, pushing deeper into his ever unique sound and style.

All 17 tracks in this mixtape stay classic Wiz; weed, money, and women. All of his signature lyrics, hooks, and beats are clearly apparent on this mixtape as well. The mixtape officially starts with Rob Markman’s introduction into the tape, then the very first track “Amber Ice” makes for a smooth take-off to "high-land" filled with dope, chill, laid-back, very hazy vibes like expected. This is continued all throughout the mixtape until the very last seconds of the last track.

On my own personal note: Hearing Wiz Khalifa speak after every single track not only made Wiz more personal to his fans, but you got to see is vision, even if it was on accident or on purpose as he will tell you. Also, I personally like hearing Wiz over hard-hitting beats like what was seen in "Cabin Fever," with that naturally one of my favorite tracks in this mixtape was "Guilty Conscience." That does not exclude many other tracks I really liked such as "The Cruise," and of course "Mary 3x."

You can check out a review song by song here.

Overall Wiz is an artist who seems to strive for constantly tip-toeing around the boundaries of Hip-Hop, alternating between rapping and his own style of music. He is creating and furthering his own lane no matter what anyone tells him to do, and with his success why would he strive to change? He is a rare individual who possesses an incredible mainstream talent and appeal on many levels. “Taylor Allderdice” provides enough fire for all the joints to go around as I believe it is intended for.

Lastly, this mixtape has that “I’ve finally made it” feel to it. Wiz is letting everyone know what accomplishing things sounds like and how it is only the beginning. For this mixtape I give it a rating of 4.5 out of 5. Get ready for O.N.I.F.C.!
