Cornerstone Mixtape #148

Spring is in full swing with a summer in your city right around the corner. The only thing that could make the season more enjoyable is new music and what better place to check new music than the Cornerstone Mixtape? This month we take a trip to the "Yay Area" and are featuring two of the Bay's rising young radio talents. We proudly present Cornerstone Mixtape #148: Young California. Mixed and hosted by DJ Amen and DC; representing KMEL - San Francisco.

DJ Amen is not only one of the Bay Area's hottest DJs, he is also one of its premiere club and concert promoters. With a knack for discovering hot new talent, Amen is a driving force in West Coast music. He was one of the first DJs on his home town's first hip-hop station, and is now one of the all-star DJs on San Francisco radio (106.1 KMEL). Check him out on twitter @DJAmen3000 or visit his website. His partner in crime, DC, has been holding it down since the young age of 6 years old. Whenever he was asked "what he wanted to be when he grew up?" Durell "DC" Coleman remembers telling anyone who would listen that he wanted to be on the radio. Right after high school, DC swiftly took a crack at an internship on his hometown station (106.1 KMEL-FM). He quickly rose through the ranks and can now be heard on KMEL rocking the airwaves. Check him out on Twitter @DCisChillin or Facebook.

This month DJ Amen and DC take us on a ride through California's emerging music scene. From the hyphy movement in Northern California all the way down to Southern L.A.'s ever expanding music scene, the Bay area's ambassadors for all things fresh bring us a plethora of the best that the Left Coast has to offer. Cornerstone Mixtape #148 features up and coming artists such as IAMSU!, Bobby Brackens, Nipsey Hussle & Kendrick Lamar. This month's Music Meeting features DJ Rob Dinero's remix to Yuna's hit new single "Live Your Life," as well as indie up and comer Triple J with his electrifying anthem "Getting My Money." These exclusives are sure to make their way into your playlists and mix-show. Stay tuned in with the Cornerstone Mixtape as we inch closer to our milestone 150th mixtape. Next month's #149 mixtape promises to deliver the exclusives and fresh sounds you've come to expect. Chill out, enjoy the weather and the music and remember, "the DJ is the Cornerstone of Hip-Hop®"
