Twisted Tradition Clothing Interview

Clothing Line Name: Twisted Tradition Clothing
Established: 1881
Website: www.twistedtraditionclothing.com

Tell us about your brand. What’s the name? How did it come to be?
TWC (Twisted Tradition Clothing) is something we describe as an “Urban Brand that meets fine clothing.” It’s co-founded by 5 individuals. We are all very fashionable, creative and business minded individuals so we felt we’d like to display our creativity in this fashion industry and let people enjoy and experience our art.
How would you describe the style of your brand? Who do you see wearing it?
Our product is exclusive and prestigious. We take pride in our design and our brand and put a lot of work and effort into every detail so our customers can be satisfied with everything from the look to the feel. We feel anyone who can appreciate creativity and use what we create to compliment their own creativity of fashion can wear our product. Fashion is art and creativity to us, let us compliment your style as you see fit.
Everyone today seems to have a clothing line; how do you make yours better or stand out more than others?
We feel we stand out because we don't pay too much attention to what everyone else is doing. We don’t follow trends, we create them. We encourage people to continue to create trends and be themselves. We do what we like. If people appreciate and like what we do then they will support us. We aren’t forcing anyone to be a certain way and vice versa.
Since the start of your clothing line, what has been your favorite piece? Why?
We’d say the Chief-Tee. Its getting very popular. People will see it and be like “WOW” or “What is that? Where do i get that?” instantly. It just pops. When you see it, it’s just dope. Can’t say too much else about it. It’s so popular we are forced to continue to push it because the demand is getting crazy for it.
Speaking of favorite pieces, who designs the clothes and comes up with the concepts?
Bentley, he is the Head Designer. He brings what you see on the product to life. He creates what you see. He sits in his think tank and meditates and comes up with all the ideas for the designs. He consults with everyone else and we all add in little tid-bits here and there, but the designing is basically on him. He’s constantly coming with the heat.
What was your day to day before starting the brand? Did you always think you would do what you do now?
Honestly all of us collectively either work jobs or hustle just to maintain and live. A dream manifested and we all are trying to push to live it and achieve it. We knew the brand would exist but the way it is now we probably would of never thought we’d be this far and honestly we aren’t even close to where we even want to be. We have a lot of hard work to do.
What is the biggest challenge you have ran into while running a clothing brand?
Just the process of maintaining the business part of it. Everyone is learning, trying to stay in sync and on the same page. Things are also picking up and getting serious so we all have to step it up so it makes the grind more intense and we have to constantly stay on our toes to remain consistent.
What’s the best part of running a clothing line?
Seeing it grow. This is like our baby. Imagine your child being born, then learning to crawl, speak its first words, walk. That's how we feel this journey is going with our brand. It’s a beautiful thing. It makes you smile and feel good inside... the feeling of accomplishment.
What’s in the near future for your brand? Anything special coming up?
We just released our spring series and are currently working on summer and fall 2012. We are completely revamping our website, planning release parties and events around the end of the summer. We just finalized a few product placement sponsorships with a few people everyone will see within the next few weeks as well. We are also putting together street teams across the country and in France as well. The grind is getting serious, we want everyone to know we are here and we are here to remain for a long time. We are not a trend, we are actually a brand that plans on making a impact in the fashion industry.
Where can we find more about your brand?
You can visit us at the Official Website or on Facebook for constant updates and information
