The Coca-Cola Beatbox by Pernilla & Asif

The “Coca-Cola Beatbox,” a multi-sensory, interactive pavillon was recently completed in London in time of the Olympics. Designed by architects Pernilla & Asif, the structure is comprised of 200 red and white rectangular air cushions that provide the shell for a space intended to combine elements of music, technology and sports. As visitors ascend through the building, they will be able to alter a track created by Mark Ronson and Katy B, change lighting, and surround themselves with audio bytes consisting of recorded athletes’ heartbeats, squeaking sneakers on hardwood, as well as other immersive, interactive features. At its peak, they will then be able enjoy breathtaking views of the park and surrounding landscape.

1Q Bluetooth Sound System

Vers Audio and founder David Laituri introduce the upcoming 1Q, a 3″ Bluetooth sound system. Built with the help of funding via Kickstarter, the mobile speaker comes integrated with Bluetooth v2.1, thus allowing it to connect to virtually any smartphone, tablet or laptop device. Boasting more than 10 hours of battery life with a connective range of up to 30 feet, the 1Q offers a wide 80Hz-20kHz frequency range and warm, natural sound courtesy of a handmade cabinet. Complete with a USB charger and cable, the 1Q is set to be available later this fall in both bamboo and walnut with a price of approximately $120 USD.

Ang Lee’s ‘Life of Pi’ Film Trailer

Based off the fantasy adventure novel by Yann Martel, published in 2001, Ang Lee imagines the epic adventure of an Indian boy adrift with his big screen adaptation of Life of Pi. Following a devastating shipwreck, Pi Patel finds himself stranded at sea with a Bengal tiger – forming an unexpected and lifesaving bond. The epic journey full of adventure and discovery hits theaters November 21, 2012.

adidas Originals by Jeremy Scott JS Wings “Fleece”

adidas Originals and Jeremy Scott team up again to present this multicolored iteration of the iconic JS Wings. A drastic contrast to the somber piece previewed at Bread & Butter recently, this almost kaleidoscopic “Fleece” is a guaranteed showstopper. Using bright yellow, red, blue, pink, and an almost neon green, the pair comes together with bold black lines, laces, and a thick rubber sole. These are scheduled to drop on August 12 at $200 USD and were originally previewed in the Hypebeast Magazine Issue #1: The Synthesis Issue.

G.O.O.D. Music Complex Magazine Photoshoot by Nabil Elderkin

Following an initial look at the interview and video as part of Complex Magazine’s August/September issue that features members of the G.O.O.D Music collective, we’re now privy to the accompanying photoshoot. Notable photographer/director Nabil Elderkin – who has handled past video works for the likes of Kanye West and Frank Ocean to name a few – presents a number of black and white portraits. Featured highlights include Common, Q-Tip, John Legend, Pusha T, Big Sean and 2 Chainz in both solo as well as in a group shots. The G.O.O.D. Music issue hits newsstands August 7.
