Amplifiear Sound Amplification Device for iPad

The Amplifiear is a sound amplification device for the new iPad and iPad 2 currently seeking a $10,000 USD backing via Kickstarter. Simple in its construction – with no batteries or electricity needs, the orb-like piece seeks to cup the speaker that jettisons from the back of the smart pad. The Amplifiear simply clips onto the corner of the iPad and reflects and amplifies the sound – boosting snare drums and other more nuanced sounds that often get lost or muffled. Having already raised nearly $2,000 USD, the Amplifiear is well on its way to reaching its funding goal.

Phantom Miro M320S High-Speed Camera

Current iterations of the award-winning Phantom high-speed camera have limited high-speed capabilities at maximum resolutions. The Miro M320S, Vision Research‘s upcoming successor to the Phantom throne will set a new standard for high-definition recording, as it will be able to record full 1080p HD at an incredible 1,540 frames-per-second. If that’s not slow enough for your epic pie-in-face montages, the Miro will also be able to record much lower resolution video (128 x 8) at a mind-boggling 325,000fps. The camera is powered by a 3.2 gigapixels/second throughput (compared to 2.3 of its predecessor), and houses an internal capping shutter, on-board battery, and versatile mount fixtures to open up the camera’s versatility and ease of use. Pricing and an official release date have yet to be determined, but it won’t be cheap, and it won’t be immediately soon either.
